31 days of projects - day 7

Monday was more of a Joshua project day.  =)  He put up some black out day/night blinds in the kids' rooms.  He also started installing a new sound system for the tv.  Funny story, as he spent the morning crawling around in the attic and was up and down several times and getting dirty and spider webby, Emma came to me and said, "Mama, aren't you glad that you have Daddy to do all your projects?"  HA!  I'm pretty sure the sound system is HIS pet project!  =D  I did manage to put a patch on Beka's beloved "Fummy" blanket.

a combined birthday party for Beka {8} and Naomi {2}.  A fun day with friends even though we were missing a few.

We started the day with cinnamon rolls followed by present opening.  and of course No Schoolwork on Birthdays!  Everyone needed that I think.  Just before lunch we drove to the Cheesecake Shop with our $10 off coupon and bought a birthday cake.  Lunch was chicken nuggets and tater tots eaten outside picnic style.  While the little ones laid down for a nap the three older girls painted some egg cartons and chip packets like caterpillars for birthday party decorations.  Mostaccioli was the birthday dinner of choice and we shared it with Grandma and Uncle Matthew.  Then we had the zebra cake. The candles were in the birthdaysaurus candle holder.  Beka tried to blow them out but they all stay lit and she got the giggles that turned into tears so we blew them out for her.  Grandma gave her a bunch of needed supplies for her cardmaking kit and Uncle Matthew gave her $20!!  After a lot of chatting Beka put on her new nightie with wings, flitted around to each of us saying good night and went to bed {sans wings}. 

31 days of projects - day 3

 This is the mess I started with.  It's supposed to stay contained in the basket but...ummm...that isn't working.  as you can see.  =)

 Here it is after I finished.  And then I went ahead and cleared the mess by the kettle too.  

Josh put this basket up for me just around the corner in the school room.  It holds my important-need-all-the-time school stuff. 

31 days of projects - day 2

October 2-- cleaning up/organizing the school room.  I sent 5 kids outside, called Josh to come home for support (it's school holidays) and started cleaning.  Each of the big girls had 10 minutes helping me.  Nathan helped with the sweeping.  I'm happy to say that it's done.  My VBS stuff is on the tv cabinet still though.  And the desks haven't been done but that's a project for another day. =D

31 Days of Projects-Day 1

October 1-- I planted a few plants in the garden.  Josh and I got the garden ready on Friday, I bought a few plants at the church plant sale on Saturday and a few reduced ones at the grocery store on Tuesday and planted them all on Tuesday. I have a sweetie tomato, a big tomato, capsicum, 3 green onions and 6 snow peas.
